An excellent start to the new year, as Caleb Parkin and I applied for and were offered a new commission as part of a project with Knowle West Media Centre. The project has been developed with a range of international and interdisciplinary partners, to create a new framework for running inclusive, community-driven projects utilising sensing technologies. It’s really exciting, especially as its the first project of this scale that Caleb and I will be working on together, and will be a great opportunity for us to develop our collaborative practice in a new direction after the successes of previous CycloGeo projects. We’ll be bringing together methodologies from performance, socially-engaged work, therapeutic writing, action research and (auto)ethnography, trying to find ways of making sense(/sensory) of sensing, and making data more human.
It’s still early days, and we’ve yet to meet the other lead artist, Amy Rose, and get to grips with what the schedule will look like. Needless to say, watch this space, there’ll be lots happening!
